Precision Weather Monitoring

“Humanity must now produce more food in the next four decades than we have in the last 8,000 years of agriculture combined. And we must do so sustainably.” (World Wildlife Fund)

Because agriculture relies on the weather, climate, and water availability to thrive, it is easily impacted by changes in weather at a micro climate level. Eltopia is working to help farmers respond through weather sensors that give an exact by acre picture of what’s going on.

Why is that important? Total demand for food is expected to rise 70 percent by 2050, and current growth rates in agriculture are not sufficient to meet this goal. However, the ag sector faces an even greater challenge because of the uncertainty posed by climate change.
